Untitled Composition interweaves spontaneously recorded
scenes to reconstruct a loose storyline, thereby creating
a model of the subjective and associative processes
of memory. Through the combination of a variety of vignettes
- such as a Belgian housewife collecting laundry hanging
from lines in her back yard and hand-held exploration
of natural and architectural spaces - Untitled Composition
illustrates the psychic and psychological effects of
travel. This film is a prototype for topics and techniques

Footage for Untitled Composition was captured on Super
8mm film while traveling across Europe and the Western
U.S. in 1997-1998.
